Father & Son Golf & Fishing Trip - May 2012

On Sunday, May 6th, Steven flew into Santa Maria from Las Vegas, we had a quick lunch, then drove up to Sacramento to spend the night before moving on to Kalamath Falls, OR. We stayed at the Days Inn and had a good Mexican dinner at Cayote Junction just down the road.

We got up this morning and had a hearty breakfast at the motel before getting on the road again. The drive was uneventful as we switched driving responsibilities. We stopped in Weed, CA for lunch and finally arrived at the Running Y Ranch Resort around 3:00 p.m. The condo wasn't ready yet so we checked in and ran into town for groceries. By the time we returned, the unit was ready and we moved in. See the slideshow below.

Sunday, May 8 - Saturday May 17, 2012
For the next few days we fished and played golf. The fishing on Upper Kalamath Lake was poor, with a net of zero fish for three day's effort. However, the golf was great! We played three rounds of golf during the week and had lots of fun. On Friday, we decided to change the fishing venue and booked a guided fishing trip down the River. Steven was the big winner, netting a 20 pound salmon. Saturday, the 15th, was a long day of driving Kalamath Falls to Santa Maria in one day. The following slideshow chronicles our adventures.
